The Women’s Ministry at Buruburu Community Centre Church of God was established with the purpose of addressing the concerns of the women in the church and in the community. It is the arm of the church designed to focus on the aspects of the ministry of the church that bring the women into focus when the church seeks to carry out the mission of the church with excellence.
The Women’s Ministry will organize programmes and engage in projects that will be meant to reach the individual women, families and groups of women in the church and in the community that need to be reached for the kingdom of God. Among such women will be the orphan girls, the girl child, widows, divorcees, single mothers, married women, career women, businesswomen, house wives, young mothers, young wives, female domestic workers, and the like.
Within the Ministry is the Women’s Society which mostly addresses the aspects of ministry targeting the empowering of women in the various aspects of their lives by providing educational programs and training experiences that would enhance the skills of women and provide opportunities for service and progress. The Women’s Society is the wing of the Women’s Ministry that plunges women of the church into action and ridding them of idleness which is not a character of Christian women.
In the area of development, the ministry will enable women to supplement the church’s efforts in initiating and implementing specific development projects for the general physical improvement of the Church and the Community Centre in liaison with other Church and Community groups.
