LOVING GOD & LOVING OTHERS
HISTORY
Believing in God’s Word and Spirit
Buruburu Community Centre Church of God Nairobi, formally known us Jericho Church of God Nairobi is one of the Church of God (Anderson Indiana) congregations of a worldwide movement of believers seeking to fulfil God’s desire for the body of Christ-the church.
The pioneer congregate of ten persons (7 men and 3 women) started gathering to worship God as a house fellowship in the year 1962 under overseer-ship of the church of God in EA (K). As one of the first growing house of fellowships, the fellowship was upgraded a fully flagged church in the year 1969, becoming Jericho Church of God which later become Buruburu Community Centre Church of God Nairobi in the year 1988 after moving to Buruburu Estate one of the largest estates in the City of Nairobi.
The church’s structure is basically a congregational organization. The church does not have a statement of faith. We take own stand on the fundamentals and evangelical Christian truth and conduct which belong to all believers in Jesus Christ. The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice in Jesus Christ.

BELIEFS
The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.
Buruburu Community Centre Church of God believes in one God, Creator and preserver of all things visible and invisible, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three co-equal persons, The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Who created man (male and female) in His own image and gave them dominion over the earthly creator. There are however certain distinctive beliefs which are strongly emphasized, simply as a basis of fellowship among us; that we all speak the same faith as follows.
- The Holy Scriptures, of Old and New Testament (the 66 books) are the Word of God. It is divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, and entirely trustworthy and serves as a supreme authority in all matters of faith.
- God is one. The one God is eternally self-existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord. As God He was manifested in the flesh; we believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His divine miracles, his vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work and His future personal return in power and glory.
- The Holy Spirit is God. As the third person in the God head, He indwells every believer upon conversion and enables the believer to live a holy life to witness in power and power and to work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Man was made in the image of God and sinless. But by choice man fell out of favour into sin. In God’s mercy, Salvation comes to every lost sin-full man freely and simply by faith in Jesus Christ who shed His blood for sin and through regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
- Salvation makes us members of the body of Christ where all believers in Jesus Christ become one body-the church composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour; entering into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or human organization, but by committing our lives to Christ.
- We believe that God calls all Christians to live in unity and peace. While Christians may not agree on all things, we do embrace the spirit of Christ in caring concern for one another. Jesus being our common foundation, love is our only creed.
- We believe that God’s standard of life for all Christians is one of moral purity and godliness, to live as Christ. As God’s people, we represent Christ in this world and we are to live a holy life.
- We believe Satan is a fallen angel whose intent is to supplant God and frustrate His holy purpose, and whose ultimate end is consignment to eternal punishment together with his followers.
