BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION Proverbs 22:6 & Psalm 127:1 Church & School Joint Service

INTRODUCTION
We gather today as a church and school family joined by God
for the same mission: to shape lives and build the future.
The future does not happen by accident; it is built.
Just like a building needs a foundation, walls, and a roof, so the future requires faith, wisdom, and character.
Question: What kind of future are we building for our children, our community, and our church?

1. A STRONG FOUNDATION IN GOD
No house stands without a solid foundation; no life stands without God.
Education gives knowledge, but faith gives direction and meaning. Colossians 2:2–3
Jesus is the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).
Challenge: Young people, build your dreams on Christ.
Teachers and parents: lay spiritual foundations. 3 John 1:4

2. OUR RESPONSIBILITY

The school shapes the mind; the church shapes the soul. Luke 2:52
Together they shape destiny.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 – ‘Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.’
Parents, teachers, and pastors must partner in mentoring the young generation.

3. VISION AND HARD WORK
Proverbs 29:18 – ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish.’
God has a vision for every child: to be a leader, a blessing, and a light. Matthew 19:14
Achieved through discipline, learning, prayer, diligence.
Joseph in Egypt – prepared through faith and wisdom, preserved nations (Genesis 41).

4. INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION
Psalm 78:4 – ‘We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.’
Legacy is not buildings, wealth, or fame it is the children and youth we raise. Proverbs 22:6, Joel 1:3
Teachers shape tomorrow’s doctors, pastors, leaders, and inventors.
The church must invest in mentorship, spiritual growth, and moral guidance. Matthew 28:19–20

Role of the Church
Shapes hearts for eternity.
Teaching children to pray, worship, and trust God builds an unshakable foundation.
Proverbs 22:6 – ‘Train up a child in the way he should go…’
Seeds are planted to bear fruit in every season, at home, in our careers, church and school. Psalm 1:2–3

Role of the School
Shapes the mind for purpose.
Knowledge without godly wisdom is dangerous.
Daniel 1:17 – God gave Daniel and his friends wisdom, influencing nations.
Classrooms are training grounds for tomorrow’s Daniels, Esthers, Deborahs, and Josephs.

Our Responsibility: Passing the Baton

The church must disciple. Romans 10:14–15
Schools must educate with excellence. Ecclesiastes 9:10
Parents must model faith and values at home. Ephesians 6:4
Together, we partner with God in shaping destinies. Deuteronomy 6:6–7

REFLECTION
Children: Work hard, stay focused, keep your faith, and dream big.
Parents & Teachers: Guide, correct, and encourage.
Church Family: Support the school, invest in young people, and pray for the next generation.

CONCLUSION

The future is like a building – it must have a foundation (faith), walls (knowledge), and a roof (character).
Together, as church and school, we are builders of destiny.
Let us rise today with commitment: to build a God-centered future that blesses generations to come.
